Apostille
While traveling abroad or while developing your business abroad, you/your company might think about legal force of the documents issued in Ukraine. Your documents have to be legalized to be recognized by other country’s competent authorities. This becomes possible due to apostille, which is also known as simplified legalization. Apostille verifies person’s signature, sometimes validity of a stamp or seal verifying the document. Apostille does not presuppose further validation or legalization of the document and is recognized by the official authorities of all countries-participants of the Hague Convention. “Apostille” is stamped only on the government-issued original documents.
The following authorities have the right for apostille:
- Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine: stamps with apostille all kinds of the official educational and scientific documents;
- Ministry of Justice of Ukraine: stamps with apostille all kinds of documents issued by justice institutions and courts, an also the documents issued by notaries of Ukraine;
- Governmental Registration Service: stamps with apostille all kinds of documents issued by this service and structural divisions of territorial form of Ministry of Justice;
- Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine: stamps with apostille all other kinds of documents.
Apostille is not stamped on: а) documents issued by diplomatic or consular agents; b) administrative documents with direct reference to commercial or customs operations.
Legalization procedure is closely connected with the document translations. TAT Center conducts all the kinds of legalization procedures.
The translation agency is not responsible for the workload of ministries and the delay of documents to be certified therein.
